Aviation First Aid Training Course

The requirement for first aid on aircraft is different from other businesses due to the location, lack of resources and time from professional help. This course covers the problems that can be faced by aircrew and how to deal with them. This course is designed to meet the first aid requirements for 'Aircrew & OPS' (previously JAR OPS) first aid laid down by the European Aviation Safety Agency and includes

Risks & hazards associated with aircraft/airports/airfields
Patient assessments & observations
Confined space CPR

Telemedicine on long haul flights
Medical and Trauma emergencies
Patient handling
Air/Ground information & communication exchange.

 

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021 as per the HSE requirements.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement.

Course Duration: 

- 1 day classroom based course with practical assessments.

First Responder on Scene

This is a nationally recognised qualification adopted by UK NHS Ambulance Services. The purpose of the FAQ Level 3 Award for First Responders on Scene: Emergency First Responder is to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to provide the appropriate care prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

The qualification covers:
• the knowledge and skills relating to scene safety and patient assessment
• life-threatening emergencies, illnesses, medical conditions and injuries.


The qualification is aimed at individuals who work or intend to provide immediate emergency care. 

This qualification is Category C on the FPHC PHEM Skills Framework:
Nationally certificated pre-hospital responder.

Helicopter Landing Officers/Heliport Assistants
Cabin Crew
Pilots
Remote airfield workers
Medics
Staff requiring a higher level of first aid

Course Duration: 2 options available

- 5 days classroom based course with practical assessment.

- 4 days plus pre-course on-line training & assessment.
This is a blended learning course where Part 1 is a comprehensive on-line module. Part 2 is classroom based where delegates will consolidate their Part 1 learning and undergo practical assessments.
